This year we are planning to have the First Annual PVCS Karaoke Competition! While everything is still in the planning stages, here are some general guidelines:

• In keeping with the mission of PVCS, all songs will be limited to those performed in Mandarin Chinese. No Taiwanese or Cantonese, please!
• For technical reasons, we are going to try to restrict song selection to those that we can find on YouTube.
• Since this is the first time we are trying this, we want to limit participation to students only.
• Preliminary rounds will be held during the fall semester, and competition finals will be held during our annual Christmas party.
• We have a preliminary list of songs that might be suitable for PVCS students. 
• We are soliciting donations for prizes! Donations may be eligible for tax deductions.

今年我们将试办普慕纳中文学校第一届卡拉OK大赛。目前一切都还在筹划阶段，初步计划如下：

• 为了因应中文学校教学目标，曲目将限制为国语歌曲，恕不接受台奥歌曲。
• 基于技术上的限制，曲目也局限在YouTube上所找得到的歌曲为准。
• 家长们或许对卡拉OK尤其热衷，不过我们第一次比赛希望限制只有同学们参与。 
• 初赛将在上学期中举办，决赛则在圣诞节晚会时进行。
• 已经找出一些可能适合同学们可以唱的歌。
• 希望有家长愿意捐出一些比较好的奖品，鼓励同学们勇跃参加！捐赠奖品可能可以报税。
